Collari opts to start 2014 a free agent

9-time World Champion Lamberto Collari has been in contact to give us an update on his current situation heading into the 2014 season, answering the many requests he has received concerning his race package. For the first time in many years the Italian RC legend will run the season without a chassis sponsor which will allow him to evaluate what car best suits him ahead of the 2015 World Championships. In terms of engine, he hopes to remain with long time sponsor Novarossi, but no deal has yet been finalised. Those who are onboard so far for the new season are previous sponsors Sanwa and Protoform, while new for this year are Hudy tools and Zac Project tires.

I just want to give a brief answer to those among my fans who keep asking me what will be my package for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

To me this will be a very important choice, mostly because of the next World Championship. This is the reason why I have to evaluate with caution, as I need to build a scenario that will be suitable for me and my team’s needs.

So far I can confirm the historical support by Sanwa for all of my electronics and Protoform for the bodyshells. Together with them we have two new entries: Hudy will supply tools and accessories, while Zac Project will be the manufacturer of my 1/8th scale track tires.

Concerning the car, this is a very important decision for me to take, and I need to find something that really involves me 100%. Up until now I have received many proposals but for once I want to take this chance to have a look around: it doesn’t really matter which car i’ll be kicking off the season with, as I may switch brand during the year. The goal is to take the final decision serenely.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Patrizio and the whole Team Capricorn for all the support I have received in the last two years, and I wish them all the best for their future projects.

Engine-wise it’s not a mystery that I consider Novarossi my “racing-home”.. We’ll see if it will be possible to extend our cooperation to chase together my tenth World title! What will be a constant is the attachment towards the Rossi family and their collaborators, who always treated me with respect in a friendly mood.

Last but not least I want to thank Red RC for the space they granted me and for the efforts they put covering all of those races; without media our sport would be less fascinating for sure!

Commento brevemente per dare una risposta ai molti messaggi che ricevo dai miei fans sui vari social network e che continuano a chiedere quali saranno i miei materiali per la stagione 2014-2015.

Per me è una scelta molto importante soprattutto in prospettiva del prossimo mondiale 2015. Per questo motivo ho necessità di valutare attentamente alcune scelte che andrò ad effettuare e che dovranno adattarsi alle mie esigenze ed a quelle della mia squadra.

Al momento posso confermare il supporto oramai storico della Sanwa per quanto riguarda la parte elettronica, della Protoform per le carrozzerie a cui si affiancano ufficialmente nuovi marchi che comunque mi hanno sempre supportato in passato come Hudy per tutta la attrezzatura e Zac per le gomme 1/8 on raod.

Per quanto riguarda l’auto è una decisione davvero importante per me che deve farmi sentire emotivamente coinvolto a 360°. Allo stato attuale ho avuto diverse proposte ma, una volta tanto voglio avere l’opportunità di guardarmi attorno; non importa con quale modello inizierò le prime gare, potrebbe anche cambiare durante la stagione. L’obbiettivo è solo di prendere serenamente quella che sarà la mia destinazione definitiva.

Con questo approfitto per fare uno speciale ringraziamento al Team Capricorn ed a Patrizio per tutto il supporto fornitomi in questi ultimi 2 anni, augurandogli tutto il meglio per i suoi nuovi progetti.

Per i motori invece non è certo un mistero che io consideri Novarossi la mia “racing-home”… Vedremo se sarà possibile estendere la nostra collaborazione per inseguire insieme il mio decimo titolo. Quello che non verrà mai a mancare sarà l’affetto verso la famiglia Rossi e verso tutti i loro collaboratori che sempre mi hanno trattato con rispetto ed amicizia.
