Mikael Johansson wins VBC indoor cup

Mikael Johansson wins VBC indoor cup

Last weekend the final round of the famous Swedish VBC off-road indoor cup took place at Team Associated Sweden’s own track. The cup is based on 5 races, with the best 3 to count. In the 2WD class Mikael Johansson had a very mixed qualifying and finals with A1 being a bit of a disaster followed by a flawless run in the second leg. In the final A-main he got involved in a big start crash and he lost a good amount of time but following some fast laps he started to race Niclas Mansson and with one minute left Niclas did a mistake allowing Mikael to pass and to take the second victory handing him the day’s win. With two round wins and a second place Mikael also took the overall championship in front of Oskar Levin and Niclas Mansson.

In the 4WD class Mikael already scored two round wins and he would only need a 4th place in the race to take the 4WD title. The qualifiers already looked promising, Mikael was on a mission posting 0.5s faster laptimes than his competitors. In the finals things got interesting after Mikael only scored a 2nd place in A2 following a win in A1. But the final A-main again saw Mikael in control of things so he took the day’s win in front of Niclas Mansson and Marcus Lind which handed him the overall 4WD buggy title.
