Marcel Paul wins at Northern Germany regionals Rd1

The first round of the Northern Germany nitro off-road regionals, a qualifying round for the German nationals, took place at the prestigious Bistensee track. While the remainder of Germany had wonderful Spring weather the race suffered from rain showers that soaked the multi-surface track making for very challenging conditions. Close to the end of the second qualifying round rain started to fall again making for a real tyre gamble. Nevertheless most of the front runners opted to run in round 3 and 4 despite very muddy track conditions in order to place as high as possible on the timing sheets. At the end the TQ went to Marcel Paul (Kyosho) who quite easily adapted to the slippery track conditions.

Following more rain during the lunch break the 40 minute final proofed to be a real challenge for men and machines. Although the rain had stopped the track still was very muddy and slippery and this lead to one or the other DNF but at the end it was again Marcel who put himself on top of the timesheets with teammate Timo Engelstätter in tow. Henrik Steiner (TLR), Philipp Guschl (Mugen) and Olaf Baumann (Kyosho) completed the top 5 result.
