Nitro-West-Masters – Announcement

The Nitro-West-Masters will start into its 6th season this coming weekend. On the 17th and 18th of May the first of six rounds of this popular nitro racing series, held in Western Germany and the Netherlands, will take place at the famous track in Oberhausen. The following rounds will be run in Dueren (07th/08th June), Bad Breisig (05th/06th July), Haltern (26th/27th July), Velp/NL (27th/28th September) and Dormagen (11th/12th October).

More than 60 nitro racers have already made their entry for the season opener which means a new record of participants for Oberhausen. The Nitro-West-Masters offers four categories, the regular 1/8 and 1/10 nitro on-road classes, called VG8 and VG10, as well as the two hobby cup classes HC8 and HC10 with mandatory engines from Sonic and Novarossi. Especially these two classes, following the slogan “more fun, less costs”, saw growing number of participants in the recent years.

Around hundred drivers have participated in the 2013 season of the Nitro-West-Masters. In VG8 Ralf Vahrenkamp (Serpent) is the reigning champion, who took the title ahead of Serpent fellow Christian Wurst and Uwe Baldes (Xray). In VG10 it was Daniel Toennessen (Mugen) who won the championship in front of Faed Labik (Xray) and Hermann-Josef Fuchs (Serpent). Young Philipp Roemer (Xray) achieved the biggest trophy in HC8, followed by Reinhard Zick (Mugen) and Matthias Guenther (Shepherd). And in HC10 Sebastian Barlak (Serpent) made it to the title with the two Xray racers Florian Trapp and Hans-Werner Dietz on second and third. As already a tradition since the beginning, the ceremonial pricegiving of the Nitro-West-Masters with lots of trophies will be held at the Nitro-West-Brunch at the end of the season early November.
