Glyn Beal would lead away the Sports GT final with Jason Thompson and Richard Boult behind after Lee Chapman hit early troubles forcing him to retire. Richard would take 2nd around 5 minutes in and Jason would drop back after running out of fuel at the 10 minute mark allowing Peter Hellawell up into 3rd. Towards the end of the race Glyn’s front belt would break and Richard would run out of fuel with around 5 minutes left to run.  This meant that Glyn was losing almost 2 seconds a lap and with just 7 laps to go, Peter would find a way past to take his first ever national A Final win with Glyn and Richard completing the podium.
