Ty Tessmann wins Invitational class at The Dual

Last weekend’s The Dual race was a 2-day Reedy Race style format that saw racing action at two different tracks with combined points from 1/8th Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy classes. Day 1 was run at Pro-Line’s test track while for day 2 racers travelled to Thunder Alley Raceway. Some big names of the industry attended the Invitational class including Ty Tessman, Jared Tebo, Cody King, Ryan Cavalieri, and Ryan Maifield just to name a few. Day 1 had Ty Tessmann sweeping the overall standings by scoring two round wins and a second place in the Buggy class. Carson Wernimont also took two rounds but only 4th place in race 3 having him sit in 2nd place. Jared Tebo completed the Buggy top 3 tie on points with Kyosho team mate Cody King.


In the Truggy class Hot Bodies’ Ty Tessmann made a clean sweep by taking each of the Truggy heats he attended. Jared Tebo came in 2nd Ryan Maifield completed the Truggy top 3. The combined overall standings then had Ty Tessmann finishing the first day of The Dual in 1st place followed by Carson Wernimont and Jared Tebo.

Day 2 of the event and Ty Tessmann started with two heat wins in Buggy and Truggy while Wernimont in Buggy and Tebo in Truggy brought home the heat 2 wins in round number 4. Round 5 and Tessmann again was in control of things in Truggy heat 1 while Cody King came out successful in the second Truggy heat. Jared Tebo then stroke back in Buggy while Carson Wernimont took an impressive win in the 2nd Buggy heat over Ty Tessmann. Mugen’s Carson Wernimont then also won the stacked Invitational Truggy heat in round #6 to help his chances at a 2nd for the overall and he also came out successful in the last round of the Buggy class to ultimately secure a 2nd place overall behind Hot Bodies’ Ty Tessman. Jared Tebo (Kyosho) finished the event sitting in 3rd overall. The Expert Buggy class had Colin Herzig walking away with the win from Shaun Kirkman in 2nd and Mikey Bustamente in 3rd.
