Darren Bloomfield takes BRCA 2WD buggy title

Darren Bloomfield takes BRCA 2WD title

This weekend was the 5th round of the BRCA Off Road National Series, held at Stotfold Model Car Club. Going into the 2WD event Schumacher’s Darren Bloomfield had a chance to wrap up the 2WD title, whilst Tom Cockerill had an outside chance to take it to the final round with a good result. But it was the Schumacher KF of Simon Moss that led the way in qualifying, taking the opening 2 qualifying rounds to secure TQ.

A rain shower just before leg 1 meant it was a fresh track for everyone, and it was Darren who showed his skill to come through and take A1. With the track fully dry for leg 2, Darren followed Simon round in a very close battle, capitalising on a rare mistake from Moss to get through to the lead when it mattered most, taking the leg, the meeting victory and with it the 2WD National Championship.
