Martin Bayer wins German 1/8 nitro buggy nationals

The 2nd round of this year’s German 1/8 nitro buggy national championships took place at the RC Modellbaufreude club in Freising near the Munich airport. After winning the opening round one week ago Martin Bayer again was the man to beat this past weekend. The Xray driver won three out of the five qualifiers to take the overall TQ for the finals. Team Durango’s Jörn Neumann came in second while Kyosho driver Carsten Keller completed the top 3 result.

Heavy rain on the final day made things a mess and the main final would not be run, meaning the qualifying results would determine the winner. This handed Martin Bayer not only the day’s win but the second German national title in a row. Jörn Neumann came in 2nd both in the second round of the championship and also in the overall result. Carsten Keller rounded out the podium while Nick Stadlter and Timo Engelstätter completed the nationals in 4th and 5th respectively.
