Rainer Ressar wins 1/8th class at Baltic Champs

This year’s Baltic Championships were held at the Peleka-Cuka track with some of the best racers from the Baltic states in attendance. The 1/8th nitro buggy final was highly affected by the weather conditions that changed massively throughout the whole weekend. In the beginning the race was lead by pole position holder Hendrik Lainemae followed by Taurius Sinkevicius. With the rain coming and going, Rainer Ressar, who fall back early in the race, made the best out of the difficult conditions as he climbed up the field to take the 2nd spot in the closing stages of the final despite a broken wheel due to contact with a concrete track marker. A few laps later 1st place driver Hendirk made an error causing a flameout, handing Rainer the lead. At the end he won the race a lap ahead of Taurius Sinkevicius and Martin Steins, who rounded out the podium in 3rd.
