Swiss 1/8th off-road championship Rd7 – Report

The 7th and final round of the Swiss 1/8th nitro off-road championship took place in the middle of the city of Morges near the lake Geneva. Run on a temporary grass track the race attracted a lot of spectators and around 120 drivers. A mix of high and low speed corners combined with only a few small jumps and a table top made for some close racing. During Saturday’s qualifying Robin Frischkopf TQ’d two rounds out of four and only missed overall TQ to Jeremy Pittet by one point. The 3rd place on Saturday went to Marc Heim.

On Sunday the track had lost some grip and started to develop holes and ruts meaning the drivers would have to adapt their car’s setup. In the final Jeremy Pittet was out in front but Robin Frischkopf, coming from 3rd on the grid after the semifinals, was hot on his heals and even lead the race at some point. But the end Jeremy Pittet (Kyosho) took the win with Robin Frischkopf (Xray) coming in 2nd a lap down. Another lap down Joachim Kallen (Kyosho) completed the top 3 result.
