Evans & Chambers win at Rumble in the Rockies

The 20th Annual Rumble in the Rockies were held this past weekend at MHOR Raceway in Denver, CO, the home track to superstar drivers Dustin Evans and Matt Chambers. This year the entry count would reach an impressive 269, making for a great weekend. The race schedule saw open practice on Friday, 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday and one last qualifier on Sunday followed by triple A-main events. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class Dustin Evans would TQ two out of the four rounds of qualifying to take the overall TQ honours and he would then drive perfect in the first and second A-main to wrap up his 1st championship of the weekend.

2WD Modified Buggy Top 3:
1. Dustin Evans – TLR/Team Orion
2. Kody Numedahl – Team Associated/Reedy
3. Matt Chambers – Kyosho/Team Orion

In the 4WD Modified Buggy class Dustin would dominate qualifying by TQ’ing all four rounds to take the overall TQ. Allot like 2WD, Evans checked out early and won the first two A-mains by a considerable margin to make it a perfect weekend and bring home his 2nd championship.

4WD Modified Buggy Top 3:
1. Dustin Evans – TLR/Team Orion
2. Zac Gastelum – TLR/Team Orion
3. Taylor Larsen – TLR/Team Orion

In Modified Truck Kyosho/Team Orion driver Matt Chambers was on-fire during qualifying and he took the overall TQ. Chambers then carried his momentum from qualifying into the mains and went onto win A-main 1 and 2 to take home the Modified Truck Championship.
