Mibosport Cup 2014/15 Rd4 – Report
The fourth round of the 2014/15 Mibosport Cup was held this past weekend at the Hotel-Sport in Hrotovice, Czech Republic. The event attracted 198 drivers in total, with 38 drivers attending in Touring Car Modified, 30 drivers signed in for Stock LRP, 13 drivers for the Formula class, 9 drivers tackled the 1/12th scale class, 58 drivers came to drive 2WD Buggy and 50 drivers attended in 4WD Buggy.
The qualifying of the Touring Car Modified class won Kuba Simurda ahead of Jiri Vysin and Dominic Vogl. Kuba Simurda absolutely owned the first A-main, when he was opening the gap to his nearest rival Jiri Vysinn right from start to the end of the final. Kuba finished two seconds ahead of Jiri, David Nemcek ended up in 3rd place. The beginning of the second A-main was almost identical, but Jiri had to retire in the 6th lap which allowed Dominic Vogl to move up to 2nd place. In the progress Kuba Simurda won the second A-main to secure the overall win early. Dominic Vogl and Mario Sowka finished on the 2nd and 3rd position respectively. In the second lap of the third A-main, Jiri Vysinn dropped down the field and he had to fight with Dominic Vogl and up front the final was won by Kuba Simurda followed by Mario Sowka and Dominic Vogl. Kuba Simurda thus took the overall win with Dominic Vogl and Mario Sowka completing the podium.
In the Stock LRP class the second qualifying was critical for the starting positions. The TQ went to Oliver Havranek in front of Jürgen Horn and Bartlomiej Zambrzycki in 3rd place. The first A-main saw an amazing battle between Oliver Havranek and Jürgen Horn. Jürgen was trying to find a past Oliver and more than once both went side by side and ultimately Jürgen was able to leave Oliver behind to take the win in the opening A-final. Oliver finished the A1 just 0.184sec behind Jürgen while the 3rd place went to Bartlomiej Zambrzycki. The battle between Oliver Havranek and Jürgen Horn then went on in the second A-main. In the end, Jürgen managed to overtake his rival again to take the win in A2 and with it the day’s win. The third A-main was almost like an exhibition for Oliver Havranek who left his nearest rival behind a full lap. The 2nd place went to Bartlomiej Zambrzycki while Ales Pelikan came in 3rd. Overall the win went to Jürgen Horn with Oliver Havranek in 2nd and Bartlomiej Zambrzycki in 3rd.
The qualifying of the Formula class was dominated by the battle between Mario Sailer and Daniel Raimann with the better end for Mario. The 3rd place on the grid went to Hannes Zuckerstätter. In the first A-main, Daniel Raimann fought Mario Sailer for the win and the win ultimately went to Daniel Raimann. Daniel then had to retire in the second A-main, allowing Mario Sailer to take the win ahead of Hannes Zuckerstätter and Michal Milanowicz. Daniel Raimann then did not attend the third A-main, allowing Mario Sailer to win take win in front of Hannes Zuckerstätter and Michal Milanowicz. Overall Mario Sailer took the win from Hannes Zuckerstätter and Michal Milanowicz who rounded out the podium in 2nd and 3rd.
The 1/12th scale class was a one-man-show of Daniel Sieber. Without any real competition the European Championships A-finalist won qualifiers and mains to take the overall win from Kuba Simurda and Manfred Resch.
The starter list of the Buggy 2WD class saw 58 drivers in total, including star driver Peter Pinisch, who recently switched from Team Associated to Schumacher, to get some millage under his belt. At the end Peter took the TQ only a second ahead of Radek Flek, the 3rd place on the grid went to Marcel Rekettye. The first A-main then was won by Peter Pinisch ahead of Radek Flek and Marcus Prihoda. In the second A-main, Radek finished in 4th place making his way to a podium finish a bit difficult. The victory in A2 again went to Peter Pinisch who won in front of Marcel Rekettye with Kaja Novotny. A3 again saw Peter taking the win, this time from Radek Flek who finished 2nd with Marcel Rekettye in 3rd. The overall win of course went to Peter Pinisch with Radek Flek and Marcel Rekettye behind.
The Buggy 4WD class saw a very strong Kaja Novotny who denied experienced Peter Pinisch the TQ. Roland Hauleitner completed the qualifying top 3 for now. Kaja then went on to win the opening A-main with a comfortable margin on Peter Pinisch and Maximilian Hauenschild. The second A-main was very similar, when Kaja checked out early and Roland Hauleitner fought Peter Pinisch for the 2nd position with the better end for Peter who was able to defend the 2nd spot till the end. Without any surprise thethird A-main wasn’t any different from the first two. Kaja again took the win, this time in front of Roland Hauleitner and Marcel Rekettye. Overall Kaja took the win with Peter Pinisch and Roland Hauleitner completing the podium.
