Mike Gosvig wins 13.5T Stock at X Race Italy
The Xray X Race Italy was held at the indoor asphalt facility of Indoor Racing Chilelli in Touring Car Modified and Stock classes along the further growing Formula category. The weekend started with free practice on Friday, followed by heat practice on Saturday. In the 13.5T class Mike Gosvig and Mattia Collina both showed a very good speed and it looked like the two would battle it out for the pole position. In Sunday’s qualifying Mike then quite easily took all three rounds for the overall TQ some five seconds in front of Mattia Collina. Young Davide Bertuzzi rounded out the top 3 so far.

The opening A-final saw Mike pulling away with no problem but some 4 laps into the race he clipped a curb and Mattia instantly was on his rear wing. As Mattia had a hard charging Bertuzzi right behind him Mike was able to open a gap again while Mattia and Bertuzzi swapped positions following a small bobble of Mattia. Up front Mike was able to cruise to the win in A1, followed by Davide and Mattia. The second A-final again had Mike being in control of things while Davide Bertuzzi finished in 2nd place. Mattia unfortunately had to retire following a crash coming out of the large sweeper which allowed Marco Puelo to grab the 3rd spot coming from 6th on the grid. The third A-main was pretty much a blueprint of A2 with Mike cruising to the win. Mattia was trying hard to deny Mike the win as he was still after the runner-up spot but a crash meant another DNF which again allowed Marco Puelo to score valuable points and thus he grabbed the final podium spot behind 2nd placed Bertuzzi and winner Gosvig.
