The KO GP incorporating the final race of the Schumacher BTCC Championship took place at the West London track this last weekend. Well over 100 drivers took part in the three classes Modified, 13.5T boosted and 17.5T Blinky over two days of tough competition with the UK top drivers plus Schumacher’s young star Michal Orlowski from Poland. Unusually for West London the weather stayed dry all weekend with beautiful sunshine on Sunday. The Modified class was dominated by Elliott Harper taking a comfortable TQ with three TQ rounds from the five rounds of qualifying. Lining up behind Elliott was Olly Jefferies, Colin Price and Chris Grainger.
Elliott and Colin Price would have the advantage in the finals having saved two new sets of Sorex 32RY tyres from the three available and Elliott took the wins in leg 1 and 2 to become KO GP Champion in 2015, really being the class of the field this weekend. Olly Jefferies, Colin Price and Chris Grainger had similar pace but it was Olly who game out on top with Colin 3rd overall.
For the overall BTCC Championship, this went down to this last race at West London. Olly Jefferies 2nd place was enough to see off a late challenge from Colin Price to pick up the Cecil Schumacher Trophy, Elliott Harper finished 3rd.
Pro Stock class qualifying was headed up by James Hart, Chris Gunter and Lee Price with Glenn Westwood pushing them hard. After three exciting finals with the positions changing several times James came out on top with Chris and Lee holding their grid positions to finish 2nd and 3rd.
James also took home the BTCC Pro Stock Championship and the Robin Schumacher trophy followed by Chris Gunter and Lee Price.
In the 17.5T Blinky class Dominic Skinner took the win from 3rd on the grid followed by Spencer Jones and Daniel Booker.
Overall in the championship Michael Ball took the top spot from James Stewart and Bradley Coaker.
