Italian 1/8th Off-road Nationals Rd4 – Report

The Italian AMSCI 1/8th off-road national championship recently concluded with the running of the fourth and final round. Held at the Rome Cross Village track, more than 80 drivers competed on the three nitro categories of Expert, F1 and F2 and the event also saw the single round Electric Brushless Championship to be held. In the Expert category Davide Ongaro took the win from tone to tone in the 45 minute final. Behind him Marco Natale, Davide Tortoricci, Alessandro Stocco and Fabrizio Teghesi battled for the remaining podium spots with the positions changing constantly. At the end Marco held the upper hand by taking the runner up spot one lap down on Davide Ongaro, leaving Davide Tortoricci behind by only around 0.5 seconds. Alessandro ended the final some 3.5 seconds short of Davide in fourth, Fabrizo rounded out the top 5 in the same lap as the second to fourth placed drivers, making for an entertaining season finale.

In the F1 category Andriano Fabianelli came out successful from Francesco Piccinetti and Giuseppe Tescione while the F2 category saw Mattia Castagli coming out fastest from Niko Flamini in second and Dario Gabrielli in third.

Finally in the 1/8th brushless class, Davide Ongaro grabbed the win from Marco Baruffolo in second and Fabrizio Teghesi in third.
