2015/16 Mibosport Cup Rd4 – Report
Round four of the 2015/16 Mibosport Cup was held this past weekend in Hrotivice, Czech Republic. The race attracted a total of 238 entries that pretty much equally split into the four electric on-road and two off-road classes. The Touring Car Modified category saw Patrick Gollner taking the TQ and the pole position for the finals and in the first A-main, Jiří Vyšín moved up from the fifth to the second place just behind Patrick. Dominic Vogl finished on the third position. Patrick then also managed to take the win in the second A-main while behind him Dominic Vogl finished in second place ahead of Mario Sowka. The third and final A-main again went to Patrick who completed a perfect sweep. Zdenko Kunák and Dominic Vogl finishing second and third respectively. Behind Patrick, Dominic Vogl and Zdenko Kunák completing the podium result in second and third respectively.
In the LRP Stock class Nico Haider grabbed the top qualifier spot and in the opening A-main Oliver Havránek made a mistake, promoting Jürgen Horn into second place behind Nico. Oliver then made a brilliant move to take back the runner-up spot and Jürgen tried to recover but it wasn’t to be so the two kept their respective positions while up front the leg was won by Nico Haider. The second A-main then saw a great battle between Nico Haider, Oliver Havránek, Philipp Neudinger and Jürgen Horn. Oliver took the lead while Philipp passed Jürgen for third. Ultimately Oliver managed to win the leg with Nico, Philipp and Jürgen behind. The third and decisive A-main then was won by Oliver Havránek. Jürgen Horn finished second ahead of Tom Krägefski. Overall the win went to Oliver Havránek with Nico Haider and Jürgen Horn behind in second and third respectively.
In the Formula class Vít Parák came out fastest to take the pole position for the A-main. As expected the opening leg then was won by Vít who opened a gap on his rivals Mario Sailer and Nico Haider. In the second A-main it was again Vít who took the win, this time in front of Thomas Dvorszky with Mario Sailer behind. The third A-main then was a blueprint of A2 with Vít taking the win from Thomas and Mario. Overall Vít Parák took the day’s win from Thomas Dvorszky and Mario Sailer.
The 1/12th scale class was dominated by Tomáš Lipták this time. Tomáš won all three qualifying runs to secure the TQ and he went on to win the first A-main with a 2 laps margin from second placed Bernd Koller and third placed Aleš Pelikán. Tomáš also came out fastest in the second A-main although he had to fight with Toni Eder. The third place in A2 went to Bernd Koller. After the retirement of Tomáš and Igor Lipták in the final leg, Aleš Pelikán finished first ahead of Toni Eder and Bernd Koller. Overall the win went to Tomáš Lipták from Toni Eder and Aleš Pelikán.
In the 2WD Buggy class Hupo Hönigl was the man to beat in qualifying as the took the TQ and the pole position for the finals. In A1 Hupo was heavily attacked by Marcel Rekettye and Kája Novotný who ultimately moved up to second place and was eager to win the leg. Aleš Bidovský finished on the third position. In A2 Kája Novotný managed to overtake Marcel Rekettye and Hupo Hönigl for the win while Hupo finished in second place behind Kája with Aleš Bidovský again in third. In the third A-main Kája again came out fastest ahead of Hupo Hönigl and Marcel Rekettye to take the overall win ahead of Hupo Hönigl and Aleš Bidovský.
In the 4WD Buggy class Kája Novotný too the TQ and he made maximum use of his pole position in the opening A-main to take the win in front of Hupo Hönigl and Aleš Bidovský. Hupo though managed to get past Kája to grab the win in A2. In the third and decisive A-main the gap between Hupo and Kája was virtual not existing and a mistake of Kája allowed Hupo to take the lead that he would hold until the end to bring home the overall victory from Kája on the runner-up spot. Aleš Bidovský would round out the top 3 result.
During the price giving ceremony Klárka Kalvodová was awarded with the best Junior trophy and the Spirit of the Race prize went to Nico Haider while Misha Aurelia Toman was awarded with the special „Yokomo Star“ prize. The final round of the 2015/16 Mibosport Cup will be held on the 19th of March, again at the Hotel-Sport in Hrotovice.
