HIT Winter Racing Series final round – Report

The final round of the Czech 2015/16 HIT Winter Racing Series was held with over 80 entries in several electric on-road classes. The event took place in the sports hall of the city of Holešov and it attracted some of the country’s fastest drivers. In the Touring Open class Kuba Simurda took wins in A1 and A2 to grab the day’s win with one final to spare. The fight for the runner-up spot was thrilling until the last final leg, when Ludvík Kurečka set a very strong pace, taking a tone-to-tone victory. Oliver Havránek chased Ludvík for more than half of the race, but mistakes in the second half of the leg did cost him dearly. Finally he had to satisfy himself with the third spot overall. The fourth place went to Radek Voda, who wasn’t able to match his excellent performance from the qualifiers.

The Touring Stock class had the most entries of the weekend and it saw young Slovak Oliver Havránek dominating the field. Karel Kratochvíl, thanks to a great performance in the last leg, snatched the runner-up spot on the podium from Matěj Bábovský. Martin Kratochvíl ended the day on the fourth spot and finally the fifth place belonged to another Slovakian guest, Tono Sloboda, who lost a bit of driver after qualification.

In the Formula class it was Tomáš Rajdus who laid down a flawless performance to take the day’s win from Tomáš Brodský. The final podium spot belonged to Lukáš Hoch after a fine performance in the finals.

The fastest class of the weekend for sure was 1/12th scale pan car. Kuba Šimurda was in control of things all day and he took easy wins to grab the overall victory. Behind him Radim Hruška and Roman Krejčí made up the top 3 result.

In the LeMans class Ivo Kavánek beat Michal Jindra and he crowned his performance with tone to tone victories. Jan Kupský moved up right onto the second spot and Michal Jindra completed the top 3. In the Race Truck category Leoš Zádrapa raced his black and green to an overall victory while Tomáš Brodský and Ivo Kavánek were battling hard for the second spot. In the end Tomáš had to settle for third while Ivo moved up to second place. Finally in the Hobby class Aleš Svoboda lost his pace at the end and he had to give his position to Radko Černohous who brought home a maiden win. The second place went to Ondřej Pernický while TQ holder Aleš Svoboda finally finished third.
