Christian Mamesah wins at Indonesian Nats Rd2

The second round of the Indonesian Electric On-road Nationals was held at the SIS track in North Jakarta with a total of 50 racers attending in the three classes of Touring Open, FWD and Mini. The sugarwatered track offered a highspeed layout but the overall grip was described as complicated by some. In the Touring Open class Bowie Ginting took the overall TQ by securing round 2 and 3 but he would struggle in the mains as he only had one of the two allowed tyres sets at hand due to one set being unusable. Anyway Bowie was able to bring home the win in the opening A-main due to his closest competitor, Muhammad Izzah, making a series of mistakes despite being around 0.3 seconds faster per lap on fresh tyres.

Leg 2 wasn’t any better for the pole sitter as, on top of the tyre troubles, he also had some electronic issues with the turbo function of the speed controller not working properly, resulting in Bowie holding up several drivers. Christian Mamesah was able to get by Bowie at some point and he would ultimately bring home the win in A2 as Bowie collided with Muhammad. With a new speed controller and again on old tyres Bowie still was a bit hampered going into the third and final A-main in which Bowie and Muhammad would battle for the entire 5 minutes. With two laps to go Muhammad would find a way past Bowie with the latter regaining the lead after Muhammad clipped a curb and rolled his car. Unfortunately it again wasn’t to be for the pole sitter as the race directer announced Bowie’s final lap wasn’t counted due to transponder issues. This meant the leg win and the overall victory for Christian Mamesah with a happy Bowie Ginting grabbing the runner-up spot from Muhammad Izzah.
