Kaja Novotny TQs & wins at Czech Open Rd4

The fourth round of Czech 1/8th Buggy Open series took place in Kolin last weekend. Despite the weather forecast not looking too good the home club prepared everything nicely, making it a great event for everyone. Following a wet Friday’s practice Saturday started with even more moisture but once the sun came out the track dried very quickly. The opening qualifier was won by Kaja Novotny ahead of his Xray team mates Max Gotzl, Frantisek Kalenda and Milan Mudra. The following two qualifiers were again won by Kaja who in turn took the overall TQ. The semifinals once again saw Kaja dominating and despite having a tyre coming loose, he was able to take the win to grab the pole position for the A-main.

In the final Kaja had a good fight with Jiri Mara (Serpent), who took the lead for about 8 minutes, but when technical problems stroke Jiri, Kaja was promoted into the lead that he would hold onto until the checkered flag. Young Max Gotzl would come in second from another Xray youngster, Frantisek Kalenda.

Final results:
1. Kaja Novotny – Xray
