Kobbevik wins 4WD title at Swedish Off-road Champs

Last weekend’s Swedish Electric Off-road Championships saw Yokomo driver Daniel Kobbevik taking control of the proceedings in the 4WD class. Putting some two seconds on the second placed driver in the best three consecutive laps Daniel was also the only one to break into the 23 seconds barrier when it came to the fastest single lap. The track was pretty beaten up from the 2WD portion of the event and it looked like the conditions would be pretty changeable during the day.

When qualification started Daniel grabbed three early round TQs to take the overall TQ despite having to sit out Q4 due to diff problems. Christoffer Svensson (Yokomo) would take the 2 spot on the A-main grid from Niclas Maansson (Team Associated) in third. The opening A-main saw Daniel and Coffe pulling a gap on the field in the early stages but an error by the latter meant Daniel would be able to cruise to the win while Christoffer had to defent himself from Oskar Levin (HB Racing) and Elias Johansson (Xray). Ultimately the opening A-main would end with Elias in second and Oskar in third. Going into the second A-main, Daniel was willing to bag the overall title early by raking the win and thanks to commanding drive the young man was able to also win the second leg in order to take the overall win with one leg to spare. In A3 the race for the remaining podium spots was on. Christoffer looked like the winner in the leg but small mistakes allowed Elias to catch up but Coffe denied him the win but the second place was still enough for Elias to take the runner-up spot from Christoffer Svensson.
