Paolo Bottignol wins Trofeo ATL Abrasivi

The inaugural Trofeo ATL Abrasivi was held at Rivoli Racing near Verona, Italy. The Formula-only race attracted both local drivers and also racers from abroad to race in a friendly atmosphere which was further helped by perfect weather conditions. Paolo Bottignol grabbed the overall TQ thanks to winning two qualifying rounds with Dutch driver Jitse Miedema coming in second. Close behind it was Simone Brocca who rounded out the top 3 result.

In the opening A-main Jitse was able to challenge Paolo with Simone hot on his heels. Some laps into the race Paolo clipped a curb which had him dropping down the order while Jitse and Simone got tangled up in a race accident, which promoted Simone into the lead with Jitse close behind. Ultimately Simone would take the win in the opening A-main from Jitse in second and Armando Tanzini in third. A2 saw a bit of a messy start. The top 4 took off with no problem but in the opening lap Simone, Jitse and Armando made a mistake. While Jitse made it back to 4th, Simone and Armando where unlucky to break their cars at the end of the straight. Up front Paolo was able to cruise to the win with Manuele Zotti in second and Fabrizio Villa in 3rd. A3 and Paolo had a perfect start, instantly opening a gap on the field.
