Velder wins at Benelux Buggy & Truggy Masters Rd4

Round four of the Benelux Buggy and Truggy Masters was held at the astro track in Appingedam in the north of the Netherlands. Due to a rainy week before the race, the track was in pretty beat up condition as it was dirty, slippery and soaked, meaning on Saturday only limited practice was possible. But come Sunday morning the track conditions were ok to race and the opening qualifier was held in slippery but dry conditions. Unfortunately after heat 1 it started raining again, making the remainder of the day the wheeled equivalent of boat racing. The TQ in the worse conditions was taken by Jarno Pijpers ahead of Jordy Velder and Bart Mullink.

Bart Mullink would then win the semi A, ahead of Jarno Pijpers and Brian Klarenbeek while in the semi B it was Jordy Velder who came out fastest ahead of Rajco van der Sluijs and Sander van Genechten. During warmup for the A-final Bart Mullink ran into troubles as he wasn’t able to leave the pits. Later he would have to completely call it a day due to mechanical issues. In the A-main, Jordy Velder laid down a commanding run, leading from tone to tone and taking the win from Sander van Genechten and Jarno Pijpers.

Final results:
1. Jordy Velder – Tekno/Alpha Plus
2. Sander van Genechten – Xray/FX
3. Jarno Pijpers – Xray/FX
4. Anne Storm – JQRacing/O.S.
