Austrian Electric On-road Nationals Rd6 – Report
Round six of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held at the RCR-Linz club in perfect weather conditions. Pretty uneven grip conditions on the track made things a bit difficult in terms of car setup but this did not keep the drivers from scoring fast laps and in Touring Modified the top 10 drivers all finished within two seconds in qualifying. Pre-event favourite, Patrick Gollner, had some bad luck with his tyres and only finished in P6 but with a new set of rubber he was able to take the overall second place in the finals behind Dominic Vogl which in turn also meant the Austrian National title for Patrick. The podium at round six was completed by Manuel Gremlica.
The Touring Stock class was pretty much a one man show with Christian Völker taking the TQ and win from Andreas Hinterleitner and Robert Fahrengruber. Overall in the championship it was Nico Haider to take the winning honours from Christian Völker and Phillip Neudinger.
Elsewhere in the Formula class Markus Wurmhöriger walked away with the day’s win from Andreas Stiebler with the second place being enough for him to grab the overall title. Bernard Welker ended the day on the third spot which is also his overall championship result behind runner-up, Thomas Dvorszky.
