Spanish National Series Rd4 – Report

The fourth and final round of the Spanish National Series was held at the Baracaldo track. The race for the overall championship titles was still on and in Touring Modified it was David Perez who took a valuable TQ from Beto Rivera and Javier Alonso while Eduaro Escandon, who was also in the position to take the overall title, had to settle for fourth.

The opening A-main then saw David scoring an easy win with a 4 seconds margin. A2 was a different affair though. Gonzo Garcia was hit by another car and needed marshalling and his car was put back right in front of David with both making contact afterwards which allow Beto to slip past David. The latter was able to recover though, closing the gap and eventually passing Beto to take the win and with it the overall title. Eduardo Escardon takes the vice-championship title and Beto Rivera completes the championship podium in third.

In the Formula class Ivan De La Calle took the day’s win at round 4 from Gaspar J. Barron in second and Paco Macias in third. The win also handed him the overall championship from Paco Macias and Gaspar J. Barron.

Finally in Touring Stock it was young Chicha Rioja who walked away with the day’s win and the overall title from Tony Mur and Rafael Ortiz.
