2017 International Dutch F1 Masters – Report

The 2017 edition of the International Dutch F1 Masters was held at the Dutch MACH Heemstede club over the weekend. Erik Sigterman had claimed the overnight TQ after the four qualifying rounds on Saturday and he would also take the overall TQ as the fifth and final qualifier on Sunday morning had to be cancelled due to rain and hail. Infinity’s Jitse Miedema would put his car on the 2 spot on the grid while Sidney Blokker (Yokomo) came in third.

In the wet opening A-main, Miedema was the man to beat, taking the win from Serpent’s David Ehrbar who had an amazing comeback from P6 while the top 3 was rounded out by Milan Holthuis (Yokomo). A2, that was held in dry conditions, saw Jitse struggling to find his pace while up front Erik Sigterman cruised to an easy win. Local driver Niels de Zwijger (CRC) claimed a second place, once again ahead of Milan Holthuis. Miedema and Sigterman were both in the mix for the overall win going into A3 and at the start Miedema immediately got ahead of Sigterman. Coming into the first corner, Miedema has to brake a little early due to understeer as Sigterman hit him from behind, spinning off and crashing out of the race. Up front Jitse was able to continue his race and to keep Milan Holthuis and David Ehrbar behind for his third consecutive IDFM title.

6. Marco Verkade – Serpent
