Daniel Kobbevik wins 2WD class at Summer Cup

OMK Raceway in Oslo recently held the popular Summer Cup on their tight and challenging astro turf track. Nice and warm weather made for good racing conditions and in the 2WD class it was newly signed Xray driver, Daniel Kobbevik who took the TQ with the Yokomo duo of Petter Berntsen and Steffen Larsen lining up in 2nd and 3rd on the grid. In the opening A-main things looked a bit different though with Daniel having a bobble in the opening stages that resulted in a popped front link, allowing Petter to win the leg in front of Steffen Larsen and Roger Berntsen.

A2 started with some tight racing but Daniel was able to slowly open a gap on the field that he would hold onto until the flag to grab the win in the second main. After a nice fight Steffen was able to bring home P2 from Petter in P3. In the third and decisive A-main Daniel was able to cruise to the win with a pretty big margin on Steffen and Roger after Petter ran into issues about six laps into the race. Ultimately it was Daniel with the day’s win from Petter 2nd and Steffen 3rd.
