ROAR 1/8th Electric & 4WD SCT Nationals – Report

The 2017 ROAR 1/8th Off-road and 4WD SCT Nationals were held at Silver Dollar RC Raceway this past weekend. The event drew near 110 entries for the 1/8th E-Buggy, 1/8th E-Truggy and 1/10th 4WD SCT classes and in E-Buggy it was Mugen’s Ryan Maifield who swept the event by TQing all four rounds of qualifying and bringing home the wins in the opening two A-mains to wrap up his third consecutive ROAR 1/8th Electric Buggy National Championship. Xray’s Ty Tessmann would come 2nd place from Team Associated’s Dreighton Stoub in 3rd.

In 1/8th E-Truggy it was Xray’s Ty Tessmann with the TQ and two straight wins in the opening two mains for the overall championship. Ryan Maifield (Mugen) came in 2nd with 2-2-14 finishes while Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri had to settle for 3rd after the tie-breaker with RM. Finally in the 4WD SCT category it was top qualifier Dakotah Phend (TLR) with the win and championship title from Tanner Denney (TLR) in 2nd. Mugen/Yokomo’s Ryan Maifield would complete the podium result in 3rd.
