Xray Racing Series Germany – Report

The Panik Raceway in Troisdorf played host to the first race of the Xray Racing Series Offroad in Germany. Over 30 drivers fought for the victory in the two buggy, single truck and single fun classes. Saturday was pretty much washed away but the sun would come out on Sunday, making for good racing conditions on the wet and challenging 250 metre astro turf track. In 2WD Buggy, Luxembourg’s Tom Maquel took the TQ and he also came out fastest in the opening two A-mains to take the overall win from A3 winner, Marcel Schneider and 3rd placed Jens Becker. Paul Siebers and Lukas Ritz would round out the top 5 result.

In 4WD Buggy it was Jens Becker with the win after scoring 1st place finishes in all three A-mains. Tom Maquel, coming from 4th on the grid, took 2nd overall from Lukas Ritz in 3rd. 4th place went to Marcel Schneider, Vanessa Wende came in 5th.

The 2WD Truck class was the domain of local matador, Guido Kraft. He scored three round TQs in the qualifiers and two wins in the main for a clean sweep despite some troubles in the final A-main. Fellow club members Ralf Weyl and Paul Siebers accompanied Guido on the podium while Walter Hornung and Thomas Schwarz finished 4th and 5th respectively.

In the Fun class two teenagers competed against two seniors. Young Nathanael Zarth came in 1st, Marcus Steinbüchel and Michael Sumann, the two seniors, took places two and three while Max Ehrenstein came in 4th.
