Southern Summer Payout Series Rd4 – Report

The fourth and final round of the Southern Summer Payout Series was held at Thornhill Racing Circuit. The series travelled across the three states of Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. With Thornhill having a new turf track, after weather destroyed the previous covered clay track, the challenge would be how to handle the extreme rise in grip from the previous events. To this added an extremely high temperature, making the day a challenge for man and machine. The podium in the 2WD Stock class went to Austin Jeffries from Daniel Grobe and Jordan Born and in the overall points series it was again Austin who took the winning honours from Daniel while Steve DeArmon completed the overall top 3 result.

In 4WD Super Stock Steve DeArmon would snatch the day’s win at round 4 from Daniel Grobe and Lance Myhre. Overall in the series Steve DeArmon came out on top, again from Daniel Grobe and Lance Myhre. Elsewhere in the 1/8th E-Truggy class it was Brian Henn with the win from Brandon Rose and Jason Beam.
