P.Y.Tang wins at Indonesia Year End Race

The annual Indonesia Year End Race was held at the Sunter International Speedway in North Jakarta last weekend. Classes run were Touring Modified, FWD and Mini and four qualifying rounds were planned for Saturday with a final qualifier on Sunday. The weather was hot and humid on practice day with track temperatures as high as 60 degrees Celsius. Qualifying was held under the thread of rain but all four rounds could take place and in the Touring Modified class to was Bowie Ginting from Indonesia who topped Q1 ahead of P.Y.Tang and M. Izzah. Suwardi found himself topping Q2 after P.Y. retired with a broken ball bearing, with Bowie and M. Izzah made some mistakes. P.Y. recovered later by taking Q3 and Q4, handing him the overnight TQ position.

Unfortunately, heavy rainfall hit the track on Sunday and the organiser called it a day when rain continued after 3pm. The final results were taken from the best 2 qualifying rounds with P.Y. Tang winning with 0 points, 2nd went to Bowie with 2 points and 3rd placed was Suwardi with 4 points.
