Swiss Electric On-road Nationals Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Swiss Electric On-road Nationals was held at the MRCP Indoor Race Arena in Dagmersellen near Luzern. Classes run were Touring Modified, Touring ProStock, Formula and 1/12th Pan Car 10.5T Boosted. In the Touring ProStock class, a very strong Darco Meister (Tamiya) took the overall TQ after three very close qualifyings with Kerim Kahraman (Infinity) and Daniel Burgener (Schumacher) finishing in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the finals Kerim Kahraman was challenged by a very strong Darco Meister but Kerim would prevail in all three legs to take the day’s win from Darco who finished on the overall runner-up spot. In 3rd Daniel was able to conserve his qualifying performance.

Luca Martinelli (Xray) and Daniel Gonzo Ghirlanda (Gonzo F1) dominated the Formula qualifyings. Ultimately the TQ position went to Daniel followed by Luca on the 2 spot as Beat Wälti rounded out the top 3 results. In the finals there was some close racing for the top spots and in the end it was Daniel Gonzo Ghirlanda who came out on top from Luca Martinelli in 2nd place and Beat Wälti 3rd.

Khounmy Bui (Xray) was dominating the 1/12th class as the took the TQ and win. Levin Hirschi (Xray) and Mario Lauria (Xray) came 2nd and 3rd after the qualifiers and both would also hold their position in the A-mains.

Elsewhere in the Touring Modified class, Philipp Huber (Team Magic) set a strong pace in qualifying after suffering in practice. Taking the overall TQ he was followed by Renato Isler (Team Magic) and Mario Rigert (Xray). In the finals Philipp could hold his pace to win all three finals with Renato Isler in 2nd and a very strong Marco Balmer in 3rd.
