Pro Stock Series Rd1 – Report

Last weekend the first round of the Pro Stock Series was held at the WMC-Wiesbaden track. The track, that will also host the Pro-Stock-Series final later this year, saw exciting and fair races under beautiful weather conditions. Saturday’s practice showed that there was no favourite in both classes and as expected, the qualification was close. In the 1/8th class Michael Kosok took the TQ ahead of Wolfgang Hederich and Rudi Hofsäß while in 1/10th 200mm Touring it was Alexander Kien with the pole position ahead of Marcus May and David Ranft.

In the 1/8th class main final Rudi was able to take the lead thanks to the fast tyre change of Shepherd boss Patrick Schäfer. However, a collision with a back-marker damaged his clutch and he had to give up the race while leading. The race was won by Michael Fuhrmann in front of Michael Kosok and Norbert Hügel.

The start of the 1/10th final was clean. Alexander Kien had to defend himself from the start against fast Marcus May, who could increase his pace to the final again. In 3rd and 4th experienced racers David Ranft and Nils Heimlich followed hot on the heels of the leading duo. Eventually Marcus managed to slip past Alexander, who opened the door just for a moment. While Alexander failed after an accident a few laps later with a broken tyre, Marcus was able to expand his lead and never looked back. The 2nd place went to David Ranft who had a solid race with no problems, except for an engine stall during refuelling. 3rd place went to rookie Nils Heimlich as a reward for a flawless race.
