BRCA Touring Car Series Rd5 – Report

The final race in the BRCA Touring Car Series was a very wet and windy affair but despite the poor weather the Bedworth club put on a great event that was very well received by the strong 100 car entry. In the lead up to the last national of 2018 Olly Jefferies had dominated testing in the Modified class and despite a lack of traction in round one which saw him down the order the Xray driver went on to take TQ and in doing so setting an impressive record of taking TQ at every UK national this season and in 2017. Lining up behind Jefferies on this occasion was his team mate Alex Hagberg with Elliott Harper 3rd for Schumacher.

Jefferies then went on to take both legs of the A-final ahead of Yokomo’s Harley Eldridge and Team Associated’s Matt White, Harley scoring her best result of the season and White capping off a very competitive domestic season.

In the Boosted Stock class it was a new man for 2018 taking TQ in the form of Schumacher’s James Hart. Both legs of the A-final then were a classic battle between Hart and Zak Finlay with Finlay taking leg one and Hart taking the second leg. By virtue of a quicker time in leg one he got the vote in overall standings as the 3rd place went to Hart’s Schumacher team mate Chris Gunter.

Billy Fletcher capped off a great season taking TQ and the win in the Blinky Stock class, second place went to Markus Askell with the 2018 champion Colin Jackson competing the podium.

All three classes had been decided prior to the final round with Jefferies successfully defending his Modified title, same in Boosted for Zak Finlay who once again dominated this class and Colin Jackson taking the overall honours in Blinky Stock.
