The opening round of the Lestr Cup series was held this past weekend. The race was held on a technical track with old school jumps and it was well accepted by the drivers. Kaja Novotny was the man to beat all weekend, taking Q1 and Q2 of 4WD for the overall TQ in front of Jiri Mara. Vaclav Broz completed the top 3 in the wheeler class. In 2WD Kaja was in a different league, taking a pretty easy TQ followed by Vaclav Broz who was in a 3-horse battle with Marcel Dostal and Jiri Mara for the runner-up spot. In 4WD and in preparation for the EOS, Kaja tried different setups in the finals with A1 being a bit difficult for Kaja. In the end it was a 5-minute sprint race with Jiri, however Kaja would hold the upper hand. For A2 and A3 Kaja was able to improve his Xray buggy which allowed him to take quite easy wins for the overall in front of Jiri Mara’s SWorkz and Vaclav Broz’s Xray.
The 2WD finals were pretty much smooth sailing for Kaja who won all three legs for the overall in front of Jiri and Vaclav.
