Schumacher Indoor Masters Rd7 – Report

This past weekend was the seventh and final round of the ever popular Worksop Series, with once again a full entry of drivers across the three classes of 2WD, 4WD and the Vintage Buggy. As always it was round by round qualifying as the racing format, with the best two results from four rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. The track layout had some great features in it and was proper off-road. Many people commented what a brilliant lay out it was. As always a huge thanks go out to the fantastic Worksop track team.

Qualifying in 2WD saw a dominating performance by Craig Collinson, taking TQ in three out of the four rounds to take pole position from Greg Williams and Allan O Brien. In 4WD it was a similar story with Craig Collinson taking TQ, ahead of Greg Williams and Tom Cockerill who lined up second and third respectively. In the Vintage class it was Chris Slater who dominated proceedings, taking TQ in three qualifying rounds to line up on pole. Rob Fox was 2nd and Lee Broadhurst lined up 3rd.

In the 2WD A-final it was then Greg Williams with the win from Craig Collinson and Josh Holdsworth.

2WD final result:

6. Allan O Brien – Schumacher

11.Dom Nunn – Xray

The 4WD main was also won by Greg Williams with Tom Yardy and Allan O Brien coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. TQ Craig Collinson had to settle for 4th overall.

4WD final result:

The Vintage A-final result saw Chris Slater taking the win with Rob Fox and Lee Broadhurst coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

As this was the final round of the series, the overall Championship trophy boards to be handed out and also the traditional raffle prizes. Unfortunately both Neil and Jonathan couldn’t attend this final round due to other commitments.

The 2019/20 season kicks off on the 13th of October and it concludes at the 15th of March 2020.
