Nitro West Masters Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Nitro West Masters series was held at the demanding Genk track in Belgium, attracting nearly 70 drivers. The Genk track was a first for the championship and thankfully the rain stayed away all weekend, making for good racing conditions for the drivers. In the premier 1/8th IC Track class it was 1/10th scale specialist, Thilo Tödtmann with the TQ and win at one of his rare excursions in the swift 1/8th class. Yves Zoma came in 2nd in the half-hour long final from John Lenaers in 3rd.

In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class it was Rene Püpke with the win, starting into the 30-minute main final behind his teammate Melvin Diekmann and passing when Melvin suffered a flame out due to running out of fuel. Behind the two, Bernd Rausch would end the day on the 3 spot.

In the the HC8 1/8th scale hobby class Dutchman Bas Aalders took the win ahead of Pieter Beekmann and Ralf Wacker.

Finally in the HC10 1/10th Nitro Touring hobby class Florian Düppe, coming from the 3 spot, took the win from Mark Van Dreumel and Stefan Maevis.
