Ultimate Racing M4R V2.0 nitro off-road engine

Modelix Racing have introduced the new Ultimate Racing M4R V2.0 nitro off-road engine. The 4-port power plant utilises a tuned crankshaft and offers linear power supply at both low and high RPM combined with improved fuel mileage, exceptional performance and reliability. The main changes from the previous version are the new cooling head design as well as the last evolution of the carburettor which is even easier to tune and more stable at different RPM compared to the previous version. The cooling head is also used on the M5 engines and it is keeping the engine cooler for improved performance at high temperatures. Its lightweight design ensures a low overall centre of gravity while the diameter of the head’s central bore has been reduced for more reliable temperature measurement as the new design ensured temp guns will not touch the glow plug. The composite carburettor of the M4R V2.0 is made by Novarossi and of a reverse type with a sliding throttle valve. It provides high idle stability, more precise tuning and higher mid/top range power.

The exclusive 13mm turbo crankshaft has been designed by the Modelix team and is hand-tuned and lightened to reduce rotational mass and is strong and reliable thanks to the use of a special steel and heat treatment. The shape of the rear cover helps to optimise the crankcase filling and to reduce dead space. The steel plate helps to reduce conrod-backplate friction and increases the life of the conrod and improves engine efficiency and performance. The engine utilises a four transfer ports sleeve that provides high and linear power over the whole RPM range while offering low fuel consumption. The selected R7 conrod is machined from super light aluminium and the material of the piston has been chosen for its excellent strength to weight properties. The flat shape of the top of the piston improves the efficiency of the engine. Each piston is coupled with the sleeve to get the best compression and longevity. This operation is made by hand, one by one and checked by a specific precise measurement tool. The combustion chamber has a special shape to increase the performance during combustion. The sealing O-ring avoids vibrations and also protects the assembled sleeve/crankcase from external dust.
