Round 3 of the BRCA Truggy and E8 Electric Buggy Nationals was held at the Brookthorpe astro turf track with a somewhat low turn out of only 29 drivers. The day started off with two rounds of timed practice in heat order followed by three rounds of qualifying on the bone dry and very fast track with thhe faster drivers were getting mid 30 second laps. During the day Matt Lewis would take the TQ spot in Truggy with Jon Howells come in 2nd place overall, and Mitchell Booth taking 3rd place overall. In the E-Buggy class it was Mike Lewis with the TQ with Michell Booth in 2nd overall and local driver Simon Hamblett taking 3rd place overall. Starting with the Truggy A-final, the race ran for 30 minutes and there were some amazing battles throughout the race. 1st and 2nd was up and gone from the get go. But 3rd and 4th were battling it out until the very end. The top 4 were Matt Lewis who drives for Associated, Mitchell Booth who drivers for Tekno, Jon Howells who also drives for Associated and finally Wez Jolly a driver for Tekno.

After a short break the E-Buggy A-final would be held which ran for 15 minutes. Very similar to the truggy race 1st and 2nd were gone like a shot, but third and forth were battling throughout the race. However Matt’s brother Mike Lewis would take the win with his Team Associated, Tekno driver Mitchell Booth came in 2nd. Local driver Gareth Capper finished in 3rd place and a very late entry from Team Tekno’s Dan Austin finished in 4th place.
