Swiss IC Track Championship Rd3 – Report

The third round of the Swiss IC Track Championship was held at the Aigle track recently. In the 1/8th on-road class it was ARC’s Silvio Hachler with the win from Shepherd’s Oliver Krahemann and Xray’s Luca Martinelli.

Over in 1/10th 200mm Touring it was the Xray duo of Stefan Wuthrich and Traugott Schar with the fastest qualifiers from another Xray pilot, Patrick Fankhauser in 3rd who set the TQ in Q3. By winning the Super Pole, Patrick secured the 3rd spot on the A-final grid with Emanuele Fonzar (Serpent) taking the final director A-main spot. In the A-final, Stefan, Traugott and Patrick were able to open a small gap on the remainder of the field early on. After about nine minutes Patrick was able to take the lead and defend it until the tyre change at the 25-minutes mark. Unfortunately for Patrick his car’s engine stalled during the pitstop for tyres which cost him a lot of time. Therefore he could not close the gap to Stefan and finished the race in P2 and in front of Infinity’s Marco Rizzo.
