Hächler & Scherer win at Swiss IC Track Nats Rd5

The fifth and final round of the Swiss IC Track Nationals was held at the challenging MRC Langenthal track last weekend. In the premier 1/8th IC Track class it was Shepherd’s Simon Kurzbuch with a clean sweep after the qualifiers to take the overall TQ from ARC’s Silvio Hächler. In the 45-minute A-main however it was Silvio who turned the page, taking the win with a 1-lap margin from Simon Kurzbuch while Xray’s Mattia Pesenti came in 3rd to round out the podium. Overall in the Championship his 2nd place finish was enough for Simon Kurzbuch to bring home the overall title from Xray’s Luca Martinelli in 2nd and Mattia Pesenti, who attended only four races, in 3rd.

In 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring it was Marco Rizzo with the overall TQ after taking all four round of qualifying but it was Shepherd’s Niclas Scherer who took a maiden win at the Swiss Nationals with a 1-lap margin after the 45-minute A-final, leaving behind Infinity’s Marco Rizzo in 2nd and 3rd place qualifier, Patrick Fankhauser in 3rd. Overall in the Championship it was Patrick with the title, thanks to two wins and a 2nd and 3rd place finish each, some 57 points ahead of Stefan Wüthrich and Marco Rizzo.
