SARDA National EP Off-road Championship Rd4 – Report

The Ultra Raceway of Pretoria, South Africa was host to the 4th and final round of the SARDA National Electric Off-road Championship last weekend. Track was very challenging with a good mixture of open high speed and tight technical sections and also adding to the challenge was its bumpy high grip carpet surface while rocketing temperatures also made it tricky. All this provided the drivers with some of the most exciting racing seen this year with everyone hunting the top step of the podium. The top qualifiers would be Hein Kotze in 2WD Modified, Charles Hollander in 4WD Modified, Wikus Coetzer in Stadium Trucks and 2WD Short Course Trucks as well as Ian Cloud in 2WD Stock and Shaun Haasbroek in 4WD Stock. When the dust had settled after the A-mains, it was Charles Hollander with the win in 2WD Mod Buggy from Hein Kotze in 2nd and Abri Kohn inn 3rd.

4WD Modified Buggy saw Charles Hollander defending his top position, leading the way from Abri Kohn 2nd and Hein Kotze in 3rd.

In the Stadium Truck class it was Wikus Coetzer with the day’s win from Kevin Rousseau 2nd and Wikus van den Berg in 3rd.

2WD SC Trucks again saw Wikus Coetzer on top as Wikus van den Berg and Jeffrey Smal rounded out the top 3 results.

In 2WD Stock Ian Cloud brought home the silverware from Wikus Coetzer 2nd and Darren Duggan in 3rd.

Finally in the 4WD Stock class it was Shaun Haasbroek with the overall from Jan Venter and Charles Hudson in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Thanks to Darryn Hill for the update.
