Spencer Rivkin joins Hobbywing

Hobbywing have announced that Spencer Rivkin, IFMAR World champion and multiple ROAR National champion, is now part of their racing team. Spencer will make his Hobbywing-powered debut soon, beginning with CRCRC, and then the Reedy International Race of Champions. The Team Associated factory driver had this to say about his change:

I’m excited to announce, I’ll be joining the Hobbywing team for 2019 and beyond with a multi-year agreement. I would like to thank all those within Hobbywing that made this a reality, and look forward to working with the Hobbywing family.

Ryan Cavalieri teams up with SWorkz for 1:8 campaign

SWorkz have announced the addition of former IFMAR Worlds and multi-time ROAR National Champion, Ryan Cavalieri to their 1:8 off-road factory team. The former long-time Team Associated ace left AE at the end of last year and he be piloting SWorkz’s popular S35 1:8 off-road platforms in his 2019 campaign. Ryan says:

I’m very excited to be a part of the SWORKz team in 2019. I would like to thank Scott Yang and Max Sonnleitner for giving me this opportunity and making the great line of communication during this process. I’m looking forward to work with the team and engineers for their 1:8 scale program starting with the Dirt Nitro Challenge as my first event of the year.

HNMC Winter Series Rd7 – Report

Round 7 of the Herts Nitro Model Club Winter Series was held last weekend with about 70 drivers in attendance. The weather conditions started off with damp fog and mist but then dried towards the end of the day. Graham Alsop took the TQ in Nitro Buggy qualifying, as Danny Conway took the TQ in E-Buggy and George Miller rounded out the Truggy class. In the Buggy A-final it was Lewis Jones with the win from Graham Alsop and Callum Niblett in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The E-Buggy A-main had Danny Conway taking the win from James Clifford and Erik Lykke. Finally in the Truggy class it was George Miller on top with Brinley Tourle 2nd and Alex Leo 3rd.

Nemo Racing USA sign Ryan Lutz 

Nemo Racing USA, along with Agama and Bullitt, welcome former Tekno RC factory driver, Ryan Lutz to their team. Ryan will be running Agama cars and Bullitt engines at races all over the country for 2019 and beyond. Ryan had the following to say about the deal:

When needing to find a new home this opportunity hit all the right notes. I feel like I have found a diamond in the rough so to speak. An established brand with a great track record already, just waiting for the opportunity to burst onto the forefront of the R/C industry! Cavalieri gets Yokomo ride for 2019 and beyond

Yokomo have announced the signing of former Team Associated driver, Ryan Cavalieri to their factory team. The 4-times World, 28-times ROAR National, and 4-times Reedy Race Invitational Champion left long-time sponsors Team Associated at the end of 2018 following a very fruitful campaign. Cav’s official Yokomo debut is next week at the 2019 CRCRC Winter Midwest Championships at The Ohio RC Factory and in the meantime he has the following to say:

I am really excited to join the Yokomo Race Team for 2019 and beyond. I would like to thank Yokomo President Tom Yokobori, Minoru Aso, & Joe Pillars for the great communication during this process. I am really looking forward to working with Yokomo Engineer Shin Adachi and also very good friend Ryan Maifield. Team Associated & Keven Hébert part ways

Team Associated and Keven Hébert have parted ways for the 2019 season, AE have announced. The 6-times ROAR national champion and multi-time IFMAR Worlds finalist is a specialist in 1/10th touring and 1/12th pan car racing and he was with AE for the last 11+ years. However, 2018 marks the end of Keven’s racing career with Team Associated and Reedy and Keven has yet to announce his new chassis sponsors.

Dakotah Phend teams up with Trinity

Trinity have announced that they have signed US off-road frontrunner, Dakotah Phend, to their factory team. The multi-time ROAR national champion and former long-time Team Orion driver will lead their modified motor division, using Trinity and Revtech motors and batteries.
