SIC Pro class wins for Tebo, Lutz & Bornhorst

Autaugaville in Alabama hosted the 2020 Southern Indoor Championship this past weekend, attracting nearly 500 entries. In the premier Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Seth VanDalen with the overall TQ from Cole Ogden in 2nd, however the 30-minute A-main event would see the top 2 drivers struggle, making way for 3rd place qualifier, Tekno RC’s Jared Tebo who took the lead in the opening stages and swapped it with Joe Bornhorst (Tekno RC) in the second half of the race, however Tebo would regain P1 a couple of laps later and from there he never looked back to take the win from Joe in 2nd while TLR’s Dakotah Phend came in 3rd overall. Austin Woodyard and Brandon Rose would end the A-main in 4th and 5th respectively.

The Pro Nitro Truggy class saw Agama’s Ryan Lutz with a clean sweep of TQ and win. The latter didn’t come easy and the lead changed multiple times during the 30-minute A-main but ultimately it was Ryan who would prevail as he took the win some 20 seconds in front of Jared Tebo as HB Racing’s Cole Ogden came in 3rd to round out the podium some 3.2 seconds behind Jared. Joe Bornhorst came in 4th overall from Jared Wiggins in 5th.

Over in Pro Electric Buggy it was Joe Bornhorst who lead the way in qualifying, however a DNF in the opening A-main made things interesting as Austin Woodyard took the win. A2 then had Joe taking the win while Austin only scored a 10th place finish meaning the two would end tie on points, however with the better end for Joe who took the overall title from Austin in 2nd. Seth VanDalen and Dakotah Phend, both tie on points, and Jared Tebo completed the top 5 results.
