The annual Florida Winternats were held in Fort Myers, Florida this past weekend in 1/8th IC Track and GT classes as well as a 1/10th Nitro Sedan category. 1/8th IC Track was top qualified by Ralph Burch, however it was Eduardo Cabal with the overall win in the 40-minute A-main some three laps in front of Lazaro Alonso in 2nd. Tony Rice would round out the top 3 podium result another seven laps down.
1/8th Masters was TQ’d by Joaquin DeSoto Sr. but the A-main was won by Peter Breton some five laps in front of Don Jones as Martin Johnson came in 3rd, another five laps down.
The 1/8th GT class dramatically lacked drivers and it was 3rd place qualifier, Martin Johnson with the win from top qualifier David Larry as 2nd place qualifier, Mike Miesel came in 3rd.
Lastly in the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Sedan class it was Jeremiah Ward with the win some 7.2 seconds in front of runner-up, George Martinez. 8th place qualifier, Jerry Guerra came in 3rd some four laps behind as TQ Ralph Burch only came in 6th overall.
