Petter Solvberg takes Norwegian 200mm title

The Norwegian 1/10th IC Track Championship was held at the Starmoen track last weekend. The facility is located about 170km north of Oslo and both the regulations due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and the fact, that the event was broadcasted live on Norwegian national television made for a very special atmosphere. Racing-wise no one held back and the outcome was open till the very end, with young and talented Olav Dahle taking the overall TQ. In the following Super Pole race Petter Solvberg, Oyvind Stusdal, Trygve Berntsen and Christian Hovden fought for the positions and ultimately it was Petter Solvberg who came out fastest after some very intense and nail-biting minutes.

The weather forecast predicted rain on Sunday, so all qualifying heats and the Super Pole were completed on Saturday in very hot and sunny weather. On Sunday the start of the A-final was forwarded about 90 minutes to enable as good tack conditions as possible even if it rained sporadically in the hours up to start. Ultimately and after some very strong and focused driving, Petter Solvberg took home the win and Norwegian National Title despite some strong pressure from Oyvind Studal, who finished in 3rd while Trygve Berntsen came in 2nd overall.
