Serpent SRX8GT TQ 1/8th scale nitro GT kit

Serpent have announced the soon release of their new SRX8GT TQ 1/8th scale nitro GT kit. The TQ is based on the SRX8GT that has proven his potential at the World Championships in Miami this January. The kit shares many high performance parts from the successful SRX8 platform with many new design concepts further pushing the overall performance. First up is the all-new gearbox that was carried over from the 989. The gearbox has a lower inertia for improved acceleration while a much longer ramp for the roller avoides locking of the second gear even with excessive wear on the shoes. Despite being lighter the gearbox offers new features to improve reliability and adjustability, such as the M4 set screws for gap adjustment, dual bearings in the second gear bell, and easy access adjustment from the outside.

Also new on the SRX8GT TQ are aluminium uprights with carbon brackets for wider roll centre adjustment as well as the all-new adjustable GT clutch set, that was used for the first time at the Worlds and that has proven to be the best possible setup. The kit will include the steel clutch bell with black shoes, but also available are an optional aluminium-coated clutch bell and yellow clutch shoes. The TQ kit is rounded out by the new HTD diffs, as used by the team at the Worlds. They feature Mod 1.25 internal gears which puts them at the largest in the market and they use larger volume housings to reduce fading and loss of performance. The internal ratio is an industry standard 10T/20T. The kit will hit stores this July.
