Mächler, Vogl & Luyer victorious at 2020 Austrian EP Nats

The Austrian Nationals, compressed into one event, was held this past weekend at the track of MRC Wiener Neustadt. The Stock class was headed by ‘Mad Max’ Mächler, making the trip from Germany for the race and having TQ’d he would go on to take the win, needing to go to 3 finals having lost out to eventual runner up Philipp Neudinger who took A1. Alexander Mayer would round out the top 3 and give a podium lock out for Awesomatix. In the Modified touring class it would be Dominic Vogl that would take the top spot in qualifying in what was a very reduced field. The finals saw the Awesomatix driver come back from a difficult first main to take the title ahead of A1 winner Patrick Gollner (Xray) in 2nd and Sascha Klug (Awesomatix) in 3rd. FWD would see Florian Luyer win from pole, wrapping up the National title early again for Awesomatix, with Johannes Neumaier (Mugen) coming home in 2nd thanks to his win in A3, while René Kronsteiner (Awesomatix) would lose out on the tie break and have to settle for 3rd. The Formula class was dominated by Rene Kobel who took his Xray to the win from pole position to claim the title with Andreas Stiebler (Serpent) in 2nd and Michael Pittner (Xray) in 3rd.
