Urbain wins at ETS RD4 in Luxembourg – Report

Last weekend, ETS RD4 took place at the Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg” in Luxembourg. A fantastic onroad racetrack that attracted 150 ETS racers to sign up for the event. The weekend of racing was amazing, and luckily the weather was stable and dry. In the Matrix Modified class, Lucas Urbain took his first ever race win at the Euro Touring Series and joined the circle of winners. He took the very important pole position in qualifying and won the first two A-Mains from start to finish. It was a perfect weekend for the French Awesomatix driver who was showing an amazing performance on track! Behind the race winner, Marc Rheinard and Ronald Völker took second and third place overall. Yannic Prümper finished fourth, and Jan Ratheisky completed the top 5 in the Matrix Modified class at ETS RD4.

In the Awesomatix ProStock class, newly crowned vice world champion Simon Lauter was fastest in qualifying and took the first two A-Mains to win the event. Simon did a masterful job in front of his contenders and in the end, it was Max Mächler who finished second with current European champion Olivier Bultynck coming in third position. A complete podium lockout for Awesomatix. Jan Ratheisky and Louis Kretschmer finished in fourth and fifth position of the Awesomatix Pro Stock class.

The Hobbywing Frontwheel class was in control of reigning ETS champion Stefan Schulz. He won all four rounds of qualifying and the first two rounds of A-Mains. Nobody could throw a serious challenge on him but the fight between the rest of A-Main positions was a close affair. Steven Olsen was able to finish second overall after he was able to overtake local hero Lacques Libar in the last corner of the third A-Main. Roman Borschel and Kevin Sparbier rounded out the top 5.

The Orca 17.5 Stock class saw a new driver on top of the podium for the first time. After TQ Dominik Reile had two imperfect first A-Mains, Kevin Schmid could seal the overall victory in front of Joshua Winkler and Jasmin Donath who finished second and third on the podium. Dominik Reile hat to take fourth place and Daniel Pöhlmann walked away from Luxembourg with a P5 in his pocket.

In the ToniSport 40+ Masters class it was Toni Mateo who took his second win of the season. He converted his pole position into victory and was able to hold a hard challenging Manuel Stankowitz off in A1 and A2. Behind Mateo and Stankowitz it was Ulrich Dinger

In the Scorpion Formula class, we saw a close fight for TQ in the four rounds of qualifying. Jan Ratheisky saw a huge challenge from Luka Jovicic and 2022 world champion Andreas Stiebler. Jan was able to take the first spot on the grid with his Xray car, with a very fast Jovicic starting in second place. They produced a great show in the finals and in the end, Jan Ratheisky took the overall win from Jovicic and Stiebler. Gergö Valent and Michal Wojcik rounded out the top 5 in the Scorpion Formula class.
