Cavalieri & Maifield with the wins at Kinwald Klassic

The third annual Kinwald Klassic took place over the weekend at Hobby Action RC Raceway, Arizona, with Ryan Cavalieri and Ryan Maifield taking the wins in buggy.  In qualifying it was Team Losi Racing’s Cavalieri who took the TQ for both buggy classes.  In the three rounds of qualifying he posted the fastest 2WD time in Q2 and fastest 4WD time in Q3.  With Team Yokomo’s Maifield second fastest in both it was Tom Rinderknecht who would completed the top 3 each time.  With all three A-Main results to count, Cavalieri took the overall win with a win, a second & a win with Maifield, the A2 winner, finishing second overall with 1up Racing’s Matthew Gonzales completing the podium. In 2WD, Maifield took the opening leg but was only fourth in A2.  With another win in A3 he was the overall victor ahead of Gonzales and Rinderknecht with Cavalieri having to settle for 4th despite his A2 win, his retirement from A1 meaning he had to carry the 11th place points. With the Kinwald Klassic a race set-up to remember legend of the sport Brian Kinwald, the biggest winner on the day was charity and the Crohns Colitis Foundation who received a cheque from Hobby Action for $4,500. This money was raise through the track raffle with Mountain Mikes Pizza topping up the total donation with a further cheque of a $1,000 for the charity which is working to cure Crohn’s disease.
