New rule rules Canas out of Spanish Championship

Defending Spanish National Champion & professional 1:8 Offroad racer Juan Carlos Canas is to miss this weekend’s second round of the National Championship after a new administration process introduced by the national governing body AECAR.  The factory Sworkz driver appears to have missed a new 24-hour registration window and have no entry for the second encounter of the highly competitive national championship.  Making a post on social media Canas, who won the season opener, explained that once he noticed entries had opened, and given he was racing in the US with an 8-hour time difference, he made his entry and payment.  However it was only when he contacted a ‘delegate of Spain’ about the race at RC Silla that he discovered he didn’t have a place due to the new 24-hour rule.

First of all this post is not to generate controversy or bad comments, it is to clarify why I will NOT attend the Spanish championship that is held this weekend in a chair.

It turns out that this year there is a “new rule” which your work, money and time from the previous year is only worth the first 24 hours, that is, your ranking from the previous year only worth the first 24 since registration opens.

In my case as many of you will know I was in America with a time difference of 8 hours and apart from that I was competing in a race which you are from 10 to 12 on the circuit. Obviously I wasn’t going to stay tuned during my career to see when the registration would be, because I was focused on my career.

As soon as I realized that the registrations were open I sign up and pay and everything is as normal because I know I have ranking.

Yesterday asking a question to the delegate of Spain I found out that I don’t have a place (I don’t know when they thought of telling me) because there were only 5 days left until the start of the test.

Result of all this is that I feel very disappointed because as everything has happened and I hope for the future things change for the good of the hobby that in the end is what really matters!

Greetings and see you at the AECAR Andalucía. championship in San Roque. That in this case they value the attendance of all their riders!
